AN ACT
1.
PURPOSE: To lower taxes for people with fuel-efficient cars.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows:

SECTION 1:
Short Title:

This act shall be known and may be cited as the Fuel Efficient Car Tax Deduction Act

SECTION 2:
Definitions

Fuel Efficient Cars- a car that gets at least thirty miles to the gallon.

Non Fuel Efficient Cars- A car that gets at least 29 miles or lower to the gallon.

SECTION 3:
Tax Cut Plan

To provide five percent tax reduction to owners of fuel-efficient cars.

SECTION 4:
Proof of Ownership to Qualify For Tax Cut

To qualify for tax cut, owners of fuel-efficient cars must attach a copy of their current automobile

registration to their Pennsylvania State Income Tax Return.

SECTION 5:
Calculating Amount of Tax Cut

After calculating their regular tax owed, qualifying owners of fuel efficient cars

may deduct five percent from the regular tax owed.

SECTION 6:
Authority to Regulate.

The Pennsylvania Department of the Treasury has the authority to regulate this act.

Penalties.

Up to a five thousand dollar fine for falsifying ownership of a fuel-efficient car.

An additional $500,000 will be allocated to the

Effective Date.

This act shall take effect January 1 of o the year after passage.
