All candidates who submit the forms prior to the convention deadline are guaranteed a
position on the ballot.
c.
There will be an allotted period of time for nominations from the floor for each row
office, for which the targeted number of candidates was not reached through
nominations prior to the Convention. Row Offices, Sgt-At-Arms, and Bailiff
nominations will be held for 2 Minutes each; Reporter
& Committee Chair nominations
will be held for 5 minutes. Floor nominations are only in order for the offices that are elected in
the afternoon session.
d.
Once either the targeted number of candidates is reached through nominations from the
floor, or the allotted period of time for nominations from the floor for each position has
expired, the Chairman will close the nominations and proceed to the next position.
e.
Motions to extend the periods of time for nominations, or exceed the targeted number
of candidates WILL NOT be in order.
f.
Motions to close the nominations prior to time of expiration WILL be in order. A two-
thirds vote of the delegates is required to close nominations.
g.
Motions to reconsider votes to close nominations will not be in order.
h.
An individual MAY NOT be nominated for more than one (l) position
in each session.
i.
One (1) minute speeches for minor office candidates and reporters in the
afternoon session.
k. Candidates who are NOT elected in the
morning session MAY accept floor nominations
j.
Three (3) minute speeches for Speaker, Lt. Governor, Editor, and Justices in the
morning session.

A targeted number of minor office candidates have been established for each position. Half
are nominated/elected by each Convention.

All nominations received by the deadline will be listed in the Election Convention Book and
will appear on the Ballot.
7.
The use of campaign posters, signs or other similar material in the convention hall or other
designated areas is permitted, except on or in the immediate vicinity of the rostrum.
Candidates and delegation leaders of the candidates' delegation are responsible for removing
all such materials at the completion of the Election Convention. Stickers, Confetti,
combustible items such as firecrackers and any other material, which may litter are not
permitted, and a violation of this rule may lead to disqualification of the candidate or other
actions.
8.
The order of balloting will be as follows:
Committee Chairs, Bailiff, Chaplain, Clerk,
Reporters, Secretary, Sgt.at Arms, and will take place in the
afternoon session. Voting for
Justice, Editor-in-Chief, Lt.
Governor, and Speaker, candidates will take place following the
Meet the Candidates Session in the
morning.
9.
Roll Call Voting Procedures: Voting takes place by a roll call of each delegation. The order
of the roll call is established by placing the first delegation to register with the State YMCA
for the Election Convention in the last voting position, the second to register being second
